The President emphasized the importance of the Common Agricultural Policy and Cohesion Policy in the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework negotiations. Together with Italy's Prime Minister, they gathered 17 EU member states to prioritize these areas. A joint letter was sent to the Irish Prime Minister to maintain funding levels and allocate additional resources for key priorities like security and energy resilience. The commitment to work on new own resources was also reaffirmed to ease national budget pressures.
