The Romanian President, Nicușor Dan, has called a meeting of the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT) on September 7, 2026, to discuss key national security issues. The agenda includes the analysis of the Army's equipment plan for 2027-2036 and the 'Romania Army 2044' program. Additionally, the council will review the SAFE program implementation analysis and the U.S. military posture in Europe, focusing on enhancing American military presence in Romania. Other current national security topics will also be addressed during the meeting at Cotroceni Palace.
