Romania and India aim to double their trade and enhance economic cooperation, focusing on technology, energy, and defense industries. President Nicușor Dan highlighted the potential for growth during the Romania India Business Forum, attended by Indian President Droupadi Murmu. He emphasized Romania's strategic position as a gateway to Europe and its skilled workforce, particularly in technology. Current trade stands at $1.3 billion, with ambitions to increase this figure, supported by a free trade agreement between the EU and India. Over 600 Indian companies operate in Romania, creating significant job opportunities. Dan also mentioned plans for a direct air link to facilitate trade.
