Nicușor Dan, after meeting with Antonio Costa: We want an ambitious EU budget

President Nicușor Dan expressed Romania's support for a robust EU budget for 2028-2034 during a meeting with European Council President Antonio Costa. The discussions highlighted the need for significant funding in cohesion and agriculture, aiming to enhance competitiveness in less developed countries. Dan emphasized the importance of reducing bureaucratic barriers to accessing EU funds and the necessity for member states to find a compromise on budget revenues. The talks also covered EU enlargement, particularly Moldova's accession, security issues related to Ukraine, and the establishment of a common European energy market.
