Nicușor Dan a promulgat Legea integrității cu „amendamentul Fritz”: „Nu ne permitem să nu accesăm aceste fonduri”

President Nicușor Dan has promulgated the controversial Integrity Law, which could jeopardize Timișoara Mayor Dominic Fritz's mandate. Despite maintaining his criticisms, Dan chose not to request a re-examination to avoid risking PNRR funds. The law includes a provision that could terminate the mandates of those found in conflict of interest before its enactment. This has been labeled the 'Fritz amendment' after Fritz lost a legal battle regarding his own conflict of interest. The law was passed by the Senate with support from PSD, PNL, AUR, and UDMR, despite PNL's leader expressing concerns over its fairness. Dan urged Parliament to revisit the law in the fall session to ensure integrity is upheld.
