Nicușor Dan has promulgated a law that will lead to the loss of Dominic Fritz's mandate as mayor of Timișoara due to a conflict of interest. The law, part of the integrity reform, must be enacted to secure PNRR funds. Dan emphasized the urgency of the law to avoid losing 770 million euros in funding, stating that without this risk, he would have sent the law back to Parliament for further debate. The new law introduces public financial interest statements, replacing previous asset declarations, and includes provisions for officials declared in conflict of interest to lose their mandates. Fritz's mandate will end in 30 days following the law's publication.
