„Nicio țară nu poate face față singură”. Cum funcționează „plasa de siguranță” anti-incendii a Europei. 777 de pompieri sunt trimiși în zonele de risc înainte de marile incendii

Europe is changing its disaster response approach by pre-positioning firefighters in high-risk areas before disasters occur. In 2026, 777 firefighters from 14 countries, including 120 from Romania, are stationed in six European states, primarily Greece. This proactive strategy, initiated after the devastating 2021 wildfires, aims to reduce response time during emergencies. The program is part of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and is coordinated by the European Commission. Greece plays a significant role, hosting the largest contingent of firefighters and serving as a model for this initiative. The pre-positioned teams support local responders and are mobilized based on the severity of incidents.
