"Nicio masă fără pâine" nu mai e valabil. Alimentul de bază al românilor, înlocuit cu alternative mai scumpe

Bread consumption in Romania has decreased by 5% this year, with people opting for healthier alternatives like sourdough and whole grain. Despite a record wheat harvest, the average monthly bread consumption per person has dropped from nearly 8 kg in 2019 to 6.8 kg in 2025. Artisan bakeries are adapting by offering a variety of specialty breads, although prices have risen by about 9%. Nutritionists advise consumers to choose the right type of bread based on ingredients rather than packaging claims. Romania remains the top consumer of bread in the EU.
