The index evaluates cities based on economy, human capital, quality of life, environment, and governance. Bucharest is one of two Romanian cities in the ranking, alongside Iași, which is placed 486th. The report highlights the strengths of American cities in economy and human capital, while European cities excel in quality of life and governance. Madrid is the highest-ranked Spanish city at 30, with Barcelona at 72. The study also notes the rising pressures from population growth and housing markets in major Spanish cities, emphasizing the importance of housing accessibility for attracting workers.
