Nestle and Auchan have not exited Russia since the Ukraine war began, unlike many Western companies. Now, President Putin is nationalizing their Russian assets through temporary administration. Auchan's Russian branch is now managed by L.E.V. Management, and Nestle's assets are under the same entity's control, following a presidential decree. Auchan, a French corporation, and Nestle, a Swiss multinational, both decided to remain in the Russian market despite the conflict. This temporary administration method has been used by the Kremlin to nationalize various Western companies' businesses in Russia, including Carlsberg and Danone.
