The first gas production at Neptun Deep is expected in the first half of 2027, with an annual output of around 8 billion cubic meters. OMV Petrom and Romgaz, the project's co-owners, confirmed that the offshore platform Neptun Alpha has been successfully installed, allowing for a clearer timeline for subsequent phases. The project aims to enhance Romania's energy security and position it as a leader in natural gas production within the EU. The final investment decision was made in June 2023, with development costs estimated at 4 billion euros. Neptun Deep is projected to have recoverable volumes of approximately 100 billion cubic meters and a plateau production level of 140,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
