Romania's Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare advocated for the MISP package at the ECOFIN meeting, aimed at integrating capital markets. This initiative seeks to reduce barriers between national markets, facilitating cross-border operations for firms and financial institutions. It also aims to enhance the Romanian authorities' ability to address violations by investment firms operating in Romania, ensuring better investor protection. Additionally, the package will improve access to transaction data for Romanian authorities, even for trades conducted in other EU markets. Nazare emphasized Romania's interests in the legislative process and the upcoming negotiations with the European Parliament.
