Nazare: „2027 este un an-cheie al ajustării fiscale, nu un an al creșterilor spectaculoase de bugete. Nu ne permitem derapaje fiscale”

Romania's budget deficit has decreased by 1.5 percentage points of GDP in the first nine months of 2026, but remains the highest in the EU. Minister Alexandru Nazare emphasized the need for fiscal discipline and warned against new fiscal deviations. Public investments have increased significantly, largely funded by European funds, which have alleviated pressure on the national budget. However, rising interest expenses continue to strain public finances. The budget for 2027 will focus on realistic revenue estimates and existing obligations, aiming for sustainable financial credibility without excessive spending increases.
