Romania's national rugby team joins the newly formed Alliance of Four Nations with Georgia, Portugal, and Spain to enhance rugby development. This strategic partnership aims to strengthen ties among the federations outside the Six Nations Tournament. The alliance will operate under Rugby Europe and World Rugby, with a rotating leadership committee. Founding members signed a memorandum in September in Georgia, with each country represented by its rugby federation leaders. The teams rank 13th to 21st globally, and Romania and Georgia will compete together in the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
