NASA pregătește avionul supersonic experimental X-59 „Quesst” pentru testul final

NASA's experimental supersonic aircraft X-59 "QueSST" has completed its 25th flight, preparing for final noise tests. The aircraft aims to fly faster than sound without producing disruptive sonic booms. Following successful test flights, NASA plans to evaluate the quieter sonic signature of the X-59 later this year. If successful, this technology could pave the way for commercial supersonic flights over land. The X-59's design minimizes pressure variations to reduce noise, aiming for a quieter sonic "thump" instead of a loud boom. This project, developed with Lockheed Martin, represents a significant step towards silent supersonic travel.
