Mount Olympus has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, recognized for its exceptional universal value. This decision highlights Greece's 12-year effort to protect the cultural and natural heritage of the region. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of this recognition, stating that Olympus now belongs to all humanity. The mountain, home to ancient Greek mythology, also hosts a rich ecosystem and significant historical monuments. Other sites added to the list include locations in Japan, Sudan, and Italy, among others.
