A farmer in Bistrița-Năsăud could not find anyone to assist with harvesting despite offering 300 lei per day. In Dolj, a strawberry plantation owner sought 20 workers but only found four. The agricultural sector faces challenges in attracting labor, with many potential workers hesitant due to demands for flexible hours and weekend work. Current labor laws require employers to register seasonal workers electronically, and over 200,000 individuals have been registered since last year.
