Mugur Isărescu: „Nu ne așteptăm la o revenire rapidă a creșterii economice”. Puterea de cumpărare scade, creditarea populației stagnează
The National Bank of Romania has slightly revised its inflation forecast for the end of 2026 from 5.5% to 6.1% due to extreme weather and energy sector issues. Governor Mugur Isărescu noted that the Romanian economy is not expected to recover quickly, with declining consumer confidence and stagnant credit for individuals. Despite the economic weakness, it helps in the fight against inflation. The annual inflation rate decreased to 8.2% in July, but the bank remains cautious about future projections. Isărescu emphasized the importance of EU fund absorption for economic growth and highlighted ongoing challenges in the industrial sector and energy prices.
