Despite a 25% government tax reduction on diesel, prices continue to rise. The cheapest diesel is at Socar, priced at 10.82 lei per liter. Gasoline prices are also close to the psychological threshold of 10 lei per liter, with the lowest price at Petrom at 9.93 lei. The Finance Ministry has extended the temporary tax reduction until September 30, 2026, to mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs on the economy and consumers.
