This measure aims to mitigate the impact of rising international fuel prices. The reduction will last until August 31, with the new excise rate set at 2,243.43 lei per 1,000 liters. If fully passed on to consumers, diesel prices could drop significantly, benefiting both individual drivers and businesses reliant on diesel fuel. The government emphasizes that this is a temporary intervention in response to market fluctuations.
