The U.S. currently exports around 1.4-1.6 million barrels of diesel daily, accounting for about 5% of global demand. A complete ban could lead to a price increase of 0.10-0.25 euros per liter in Europe, affecting Romanian prices as well. As of late September 2026, diesel prices were around 10.95-11.05 lei per liter, with projections indicating a possible increase to 11.50 lei within weeks if the ban is implemented.
