He notes that such a ban would significantly impact global demand, affecting about 5% of it. The current reduction in American diesel imports has already led to price increases in Europe. Chisăliță estimates that prices could rise by 10-12% within weeks, potentially adding up to 1 leu to current prices in Romania, which are around 10 lei. U.S. President Trump has indicated that a decision on export restrictions will be made soon, marking a significant shift in U.S. energy export policy.
