This increase comes just days after the excise tax was reduced by 20%, which had briefly lowered prices below 10 lei in several areas. Major fuel companies have raised prices again, eroding the initial benefits of the tax cut. The government has implemented this temporary tax reduction to counteract rising international diesel prices.
