Motivul pentru care crocodilii au supraviețuit asteroidului ce a dus la dispariția dinozaurilor, explicat de un studiu masiv

A recent study reveals that crocodilians survived the asteroid impact that led to the extinction of dinosaurs due to their preference for warm climates and specific physiological traits. Researchers analyzed over 400 species and 7,000 fossils, finding that crocodilians consistently inhabited warm regions, unlike other groups that adapted to various climates. Their ability to enter states of dormancy during extreme conditions and their cold-blooded nature provided them with a metabolic advantage during ecological stress. This resilience allowed them to endure the catastrophic environmental changes following the Chicxulub impact, while many other species perished.
