Moșii de toamnă 2026: Când pică Sâmbăta Morților și ce se dă de pomană - WOWbiz.ro

The Orthodox Church commemorates the deceased during the autumn Moșii, also known as Sâmbăta Morților, which will be observed on November 7, 2026. Families honor their departed by bringing offerings such as colivă, bread, and wine to church, which are blessed and shared with the needy. Colivă, made from boiled wheat, symbolizes the body of the deceased and reflects the belief in resurrection. This tradition stems from a miracle attributed to Saint Theodore Tiron, emphasizing the importance of these rituals in Orthodox faith.
