Moscova expulzează diplomați maghiari, la două săptămâni după gestul similar făcut de Budapesta
Russia has expelled Hungarian diplomats in response to Hungary's earlier expulsion of Russian diplomats, marking a significant shift in bilateral relations. Hungary's government, under Peter Magyar, accused the expelled Russian diplomats of unacceptable activities, which are often linked to espionage. This expulsion is the largest since 2018 and reflects Hungary's new approach to NATO and the EU, contrasting with Viktor Orban's previous close ties to Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Hungary's chargé d'affaires to deliver a strong protest and a list of diplomats declared persona non grata, giving them two weeks to leave. Hungary's Foreign Ministry acknowledged the expulsion but expressed a desire to avoid further escalation of tensions while maintaining its diplomatic presence in Russia.
