Monedă dreptunghiulară lansată de BNR. Este din argint şi va fi dedicată pictorului Nicolae Tonitza

The National Bank of Romania is launching its first rectangular silver coin dedicated to painter Nicolae Tonitza on August 24, 2026. This coin is part of a new series honoring Romanian painters, marking Tonitza's 140th birth anniversary. The coin features a colored image of Tonitza's painting 'Flori galbene' and has a nominal value of 10 lei. It weighs 31.103 grams and measures 43x31 mm. The coin will be sold for 1,150 lei and comes with a presentation brochure and authenticity certificate. A total of 500 pieces will be issued, available through regional branches of the bank.
