Moment istoric în Europa: Italia și Austria au fost conectate prin cel mai lung tunel feroviar din lume

The Brenner Base Tunnel's main galleries have been connected, marking a significant milestone for European infrastructure. This 64-kilometer railway link aims to shift freight transport from road to rail, enhancing cross-border connectivity between Austria and Italy. The project, co-financed by the EU, is expected to be completed by 2032, reducing travel time between Fortezza and Innsbruck significantly. With over 220 kilometers of tunnel excavated, the Brenner Tunnel will become the world's longest railway tunnel, addressing heavy traffic in the region.
