Platts will introduce a natural gas pricing system for Romania's Virtual Trading Point starting December 1, 2026, enhancing market liquidity. The initiative aligns with Romania's goal to become a leading gas producer in the EU by 2027, amid efforts to reduce reliance on Russian gas imports. Pricing will be available in both lei and euros, with daily and weekly assessments scheduled. The Neptun Deep project is expected to contribute significantly to gas production by mid-2027, with recoverable volumes estimated at 100 billion cubic meters.
