Moldova and Ukraine have agreed to facilitate the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products via Moldovan railways to Romania, bypassing Russian attacks. This initiative, announced by Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, aims to support Ukraine's exports amid increased Russian aggression. The agreement allows for the transit of up to 600,000 tons of agricultural goods by the end of 2026, providing a crucial alternative route for Ukraine's food exports. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude for Moldova's solidarity, emphasizing the importance of alternative export routes for global food security. However, the agreement covers only a small fraction of Ukraine's projected exports, raising concerns about storage capacity as the harvest season approaches.
