Moldova has lodged a protest with Ukraine after two Ukrainian border guards illegally crossed the border while pursuing a man. The incident occurred on October 15, near the village of Holoșnița, as the guards attempted to apprehend a Ukrainian citizen swimming across the Dniester River. The Moldovan parliamentary security committee chair criticized the guards' actions as a serious violation. The pursued man, who sought asylum in Moldova, was hospitalized with a concussion. Following the incident, the two guards were handed over to Ukrainian authorities, and a criminal investigation was initiated regarding their illegal border crossing.
