European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, praised Moldova's impressive progress towards EU membership during the Association Council meeting. The EU has disbursed a third tranche of 157 million euros to Moldova, contingent on the implementation of 18 reforms across various sectors. Kos emphasized the importance of ongoing reforms, particularly in the judiciary, and highlighted the need for Moldova to enhance its energy independence. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan noted the tangible benefits of EU integration, with a significant increase in exports to the EU. The EU's support aims to bolster Moldova's economy and facilitate its gradual alignment with the EU market, while also addressing security concerns amid regional tensions.
