MOL Group has inaugurated its first biomethane production unit in Szarvas, Hungary, following an investment of over 2.7 billion HUF. The facility can produce biomethane from biogas, which will replace over 7 million cubic meters of natural gas annually with renewable energy. This investment aligns with MOL's long-term SHAPE TOMORROW strategy, enhancing its green energy portfolio and contributing to sustainable energy supply in the region. The plant processes organic waste, producing high-purity biomethane suitable for natural gas networks and transportation. This marks MOL's first biomethane facility and the third of its kind in Hungary, with technology provided by Gruppo AB.
