Major changes to high school admission will be implemented in 2027, allowing some schools to conduct their own entrance exams. Students will still take the National Assessment, but not all will be admitted solely through computer allocation. Up to 50% of places in certain high schools may be filled through their own competitions, while technical schools could introduce additional tests. A student who fails the entrance exam will still have a chance for computer allocation. The Ministry of Education has initiated public consultation on the new admission methodology, which will affect students finishing the 8th grade in 2027.
