The modernization of the Bucharest-Giurgiu railway is currently 19% complete, with full design finalized. The project, valued at 2.1 billion lei, includes upgrades to stations, platforms, viaducts, signaling systems, and electrification, aiming for completion by September 2028. Ongoing work includes platform preparation, foundation construction, and the installation of new passenger facilities. The project is managed by RailWorks, a partnership between Arcada Company and Alstom Transport, and aims to enhance traffic capacity and safety on the railway link to Bulgaria.
