Modernizare cu scandal și proteste pe faleza Dunării din Galați. Motivul care a revoltat localnicii: „Trebuia expus proiectul și votat”

The modernization of the Danube promenade in Galați, costing over 200 million lei, has sparked controversy due to tree removals. The contractor was fined 100,000 lei, and only about 700 of the 900 trees can be cut down. The city assures that the area will become greener with the planting of thousands of new trees and shrubs. The project, which began in July, has faced protests and regulatory issues, including non-compliance with environmental agreements. The rehabilitation aims to enhance the promenade after over four decades, with completion expected within two years.
