Mobilizare la Spitalul "Dr. C.I.Parhon" Iaşi, pentru două transplanturi renale dificile. 30 de medici au venit din timpul liber

Two kidney transplants were successfully performed at 'Dr. C.I. Parhon' Hospital in Iași, thanks to the organ donation from a brain-dead patient. The surgeries involved a team of around 30 medical professionals who volunteered their time. One recipient, a 52-year-old man from Botoșani, had been on dialysis since 2023 due to a rare kidney condition. The second recipient, a 43-year-old man from Moldova, had been undergoing dialysis since 2026 for polycystic kidney disease. The medical team faced challenges due to the donor's hepatitis B status, requiring careful management of immunosuppression. Despite the complexity, both surgeries were completed successfully, highlighting the dedication of the transplant team, who do not receive additional compensation for their work. This year, the center has conducted about 35 kidney transplants from brain-dead donors.
