The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) advises residents of Suceava County not to panic due to the presence of numerous emergency vehicles and international response convoys for an upcoming civil protection exercise. From September 29 to October 2, around 400 participants will engage in the "CROSSFLOOD Full-Scale Exercise," part of a European project aimed at flood response in post-conflict areas. The exercise will simulate severe flooding scenarios in the Prut and Siret river basins, complicated by hazardous incidents involving CBRN substances and unexploded ordnance. Teams from Romania and various European countries, including Austria and Ukraine, will participate, with activities spread across multiple locations. DSU reassures the public that this is a planned event and not a real emergency, urging them to refrain from sharing unofficial information.
