The relics of Saint George the Pilgrim will be brought to the Cathedral of Reunification in Alba Iulia from October 20 to 22, 2026, for veneration. This event coincides with the celebration of the Transylvanian Martyrs. Saint George, born in 1846 in Șugag, is known for his pious life dedicated to prayer and helping the needy. He was canonized in 2018 and is commemorated annually on August 17. His relics will be available for public veneration starting Tuesday at 5 PM until Thursday at 10 AM. A fragment of his relics has been in Șugag since 2019, strengthening the connection between the saint and his birthplace.
