A Slovenian and a Romanian were arrested for corruption related to an energy storage project in Gheorgheni, involving a bribe of €450,000. Prosecutors allege that Gregor Hudohmet, CEO of Gen-I Sonce, and his accomplice Cristian Theodor Dragomir, executive director of Waldevar Energy SRL, solicited the bribe for a contract to build a large energy storage system. The funds were intended to be paid to a third company, SC Smart Green Design SRL, through a consultancy agreement. Both suspects were initially detained for 24 hours and later received 30-day preventive arrest orders from a judge. The Romanian company involved plans to issue an official statement after reviewing the details of the case.
