Romania will extend its support to France in combating wildfires for an additional two weeks. The National Emergency Committee approved this extension at the request of French authorities. A new contingent of Romanian firefighters will replace the current team in France, continuing efforts to mitigate the impact of the fires. Romanian firefighters have been active in France since early July, particularly in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed gratitude to Romania for its assistance, highlighting the ongoing challenges posed by the wildfires, which may take weeks or months to fully extinguish.
