The National Environmental Guard imposed fines totaling 795,000 lei and suspended three activities after investigating strong odors reported in Bucharest and Ilfov. Two main sources were identified: the waste deposit in Vidra and the wastewater treatment plant in Glina. Following 55 inspections, several operators were penalized for environmental non-compliance. The GNM has requested a joint order from health authorities to enhance public health oversight in industrial inspections. Over 1,300 odor complaints were mapped, indicating significant issues in Sector 4 and surrounding areas. The GNM aims to ensure compliance and monitor the situation closely.
