Romania's Health Minister, Alexandru Rogobete, confirmed that hospitals will not be closed, emphasizing the focus on expanding outpatient services. He noted that 80% of patients require consultations or tests that do not necessitate hospitalization. The minister highlighted advancements in medical technology that allow for quicker patient recovery, reducing the need for extended stays. He reiterated that monitoring chronic conditions can often be managed without inpatient care, making short hospitalizations unsustainable.
