Ministrul interimar al Apărării, Radu Miruță: România este în prima linie de apărare a graniței Uniunii Europene

Romania is increasingly feeling the indirect effects of the war in Ukraine, with intensified attacks near its border, according to Defense Minister Radu Miruță. He emphasized Romania's role as a frontline defender of the EU's borders and noted a rise in drone debris along the Romanian coast linked to Russian attacks on Ukraine. Miruță defended the accelerated military investment plan, stating it aims to deter potential aggressors rather than prepare for war. The Romanian Army has heightened surveillance and alert levels in response to the recent escalation of fighting in Ukraine.
