Ministrul Economiei: "Cele patru nave finanţate prin SAFE trebuie construite la Şantierul Naval Mangalia"

The interim Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, insists that four patrol ships funded by the SAFE program must be built at the Mangalia Shipyard, despite its financial difficulties. He highlighted the introduction of a mandatory condition for the project, ensuring that the ships are produced in Romania. Darău acknowledged the challenges faced by the shipyard, including ongoing insolvency proceedings, but expressed confidence in the project's completion by 2030. Discussions with Rheinmetall indicate interest in proceeding with the project at Mangalia, although investment decisions remain with the private company.
