The interim Minister of Culture, Andras Istvan Demeter, is awaiting a proposal from the Romanian Publishers Association (AER) regarding Romania's participation as the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2028. If AER does not respond, the responsibility will fall to the Office of Film and Cultural Investments (OFIC). Demeter expressed concerns about AER's ability to manage the project, emphasizing the need for collaboration among various cultural entities. The OFIC manager, Valentin Savu, highlighted the importance of the Frankfurt event for Romanian culture and stressed the necessity of a government decision to coordinate the program effectively. Discussions are ongoing among various cultural institutions to contribute to the program's development.
