The Romanian Ministry of Finance emphasized the importance of collecting the remaining 6.43 billion euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to meet budget deficit targets. Payments already made for PNRR projects that are not validated by the European Commission will need to be covered by the national budget. As of now, Romania has received 13.27 billion euros from PNRR, with 6.43 billion euros still pending, including amounts from payment requests currently under evaluation. The ministry highlighted that unvalidated amounts will directly impact the budget deficit, as expenses incurred will not be covered by non-repayable funds. The execution of the budget and the financial situation of PNRR will be crucial for future budget planning and adjustments.
