Ministerul Finanțelor menține redusă acciza la motorină cu 25% și în a doua jumătate a lunii octombrie

The Romanian Ministry of Finance announced the extension of a 25% temporary reduction in excise duty on standard diesel until October 31, 2026. This reduction, amounting to 701.07 lei per 1,000 liters, aims to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on the economy and consumers. The measure is part of a mechanism established by Law no. 162/2026, which allows for biweekly evaluations of market indicators. The government declared a state of crisis in the oil market in March 2026, with the law in effect until the end of October 2026, subject to further extensions. Officials emphasized the importance of this intervention in controlling the chain reaction of fuel costs affecting transport and logistics.
