Ministerul Energiei, alertă timpurie transmisă către Comisia Europeană în contextul secetei hidrologice severe din România

Severe drought conditions are affecting the Danube River, leading to reduced water levels and negative impacts on the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. The National Meteorological Administration has issued multiple heatwave alerts, with extreme temperatures expected to increase electricity consumption significantly. The low water flow is nearing critical levels for safe cooling operations at the plant, prompting the Ministry of Energy to prepare a risk management plan. A preliminary alert has been sent to the European Commission, although there is currently no negative impact on the domestic electricity market.
