In 2026, Romania's Ministry of Energy disbursed €256.56 million to beneficiaries under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), surpassing previous payments. Cumulative payments since the program's inception exceeded €468 million. Recent payments included €23.20 million, with 11 transfer requests authorized. The ministry highlighted that Romania exceeded PNRR objectives in the energy sector, with over €838 million allocated for new energy production and storage capacities. Significant achievements include 247 completed renewable energy projects, surpassing the target of 950 MW, and five energy storage projects exceeding the 240 MW goal. The PNRR also supported high-efficiency cogeneration and green hydrogen production, with results exceeding initial targets. Overall, Romania is making substantial progress in renewable energy capacity and efficiency improvements.
